I seek your support to better represent you.
I am living the reality of working three jobs to make ends meet, in an area burdened with some of the highest tax rates in the country. I’m facing rising, unsustainable health insurance premiums, and medication costs that are 30 times higher than in Canada. My wife has a pre-existing condition that will result in our family losing coverage if the ACA is gutted or not replaced with something better. I get it.
I have two young daughters, and I worry every day about the kind of world they will inherit. In 2018, they should not be facing sexual discrimination and harassment, unsafe drinking water and other environmental toxins, and the real threat of climate change.
I believe in giving back to my community, not taking from it. I went into business to contribute to the quality of life in our region, to share my passion for running, and to support my family. Government should be about taking care of our communities as well, and those who serve should do so out of compassion for their neighbors.
I am a product of my environment. I grew up in a close-knit community where many of my classmates went straight to work after high school. I attended college, but didn’t stay in academia. I love connecting to people of all backgrounds and hearing about their struggles and triumphs. Instead of division, I see possibilities for uniting and working together on our problems.
I don’t claim to have all of the answers, but I know where to find the right people for advice. I value connection, inspiration, and empowerment, and I want to work with people of all ages, races, economic backgrounds, and beliefs.
